The hope of the common man is now a weapon of abuse in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital by some religious fanatics and some so-called powerful nuisances.
These people are using the Court of law and members of our revered body of Benchers in Kwara state as tools of abuse.
The abuse of courts in Ilorin is now so alarming that court processes and legal procedures are now causing harm, delay, and obstruction in pursuit of justice through the use of religious tactics to manipulate the legal system for their personal gain and ego.
The case of TANI OLORUN as a case study shows that our court in Ilorin is now a showroom where beer parlor talks and issues are discussed and handled.
I was going through BBC Yoruba this morning (1st of February, 2024 ) and lo and behold, another case was brought against TANI OLORUN by one Lawyer (I don’t want to dignify him with popularity by calling his name). Mere listening to the content of the case filed by the so-called lawyer shows that stupidity is now the order of the day in most of the legal space in Ilorin.
How on earth will a lawyer file a lawsuits on assumptions? A presume fact from a learned person… It’s so shameful!
What I know is that if the law is against you, you argue the fact and if the fact is against you, you ask a lawyer who knows better but the reverse is the case in Ilorin because of the abuse of court processes.
Throughout the whole issue of TANI OLORUN, I followed with keen interest seeing and hearing of baseless claims, submitting of frivolous motions, and engaging in vexatious litigation.
It’s unfortunate and painful that the body of Benchers in Nigeria kept mute when these barbaric and primitive acts are shamefully and openly displayed.
Arresting him in the first place shows a malicious and abuse of court procedures which to reasonable citizens undermines trust in the legal system.
TANI OLORUN’s arrest and case show a display of some arrogant individuals who out of fanaticism displayed power to exploit the weakness of Ilorin courts for their personal gain, ego and harassment purposes.
As a citizen of this country, this is a call for proper investigation of Judges that handled TANI OLORUN cases. The body of Benchers need to comprehensively analyse some ethical responsibilities of legal professionals handling that case and take them out of Ilorin for proper questioning.
Manipulation and misuse of legal proceedings with intentions to gain unfair advantage is against the law and if not properly handled could lead to break down of law and order.
