A total of 1,702 murder cases were recorded across the country in 2023, Statisense has revealed.
Quoting the Ministry of Police Affairs in a post on its verified X account, Statisense said the North Central had the highest number of murder cases with 436, followed by the North West with 417.
Also, the North East had 345 murder cases, while the South West had 174.
Similarly, the South East had 169, while the South south had 161.
It said: “Murder cases in Nigeria by zone — 2023: North Central — 436; North West — 417; North East — 345; South West — 174; South East — 169; South South — 161.”
