For a country battling insecurity, youth restiveness, drug abuse, trafficking as well as arms proliferation, among others. One will think authorities should be more concerned about its youthful population; what they do, how they spend their time and the companies they keep.
Yes! The right to freedom of association is a fundamental human right enshrined in Section 40 of the Nigerian Constitution. The Section indeed guarantees the right to assemble freely and associate with other individuals, including the right to form or belong to any political party, trade union, or other association.
However, when this right is being abused and appearing to pose a threat to national security, should the government be quiet?
Nigeria as a country is the giant of Africa, a continent with moral values, where family bond is respected. So, when the right to freedom of association as a fundamental human right is getting families worried, confused and in total disarray over the whereabouts of a member, should authorities be quiet?
Boko Haram insurgents, a dreaded sect, started just like a very small group before its grip on the Nigeria state became strong and sent shock waves to every part of Nigeria that even neigbouring countries felt its impacts.
As of 2022, the conflict between Boko Haram and Nigeria’s security forces has killed an estimated 35,000 people in North-east Nigeria. The violence has devastated communities, leading to the displacement of over three million people, and has plunged millions more into extreme poverty.
Today, three different factions of Boko Haram continue to target security forces, civil servants, humanitarian workers, and civilians in Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, and Chad in their bid to establish their version of a puritanical Islamic state.
Nebaioth Academy
There have been thousands of allegations both online and offline over the activities of Nebaioth Academy. The academy which is camouflage as a prayer group is allegedly led by a woman identified as Joy Solomon.
Surprisingly, there are reports that individuals who join the ministry have mysteriously severe contact with their family members and relations.
First, it was an Abuja based stylist, Ejiro who after joining this academy disappeared from social media, and no one could account for her whereabouts, not even her family.
While the issue of Ejiro became public knowledge, several other young individuals have disappeared in similar versions, brainwashed by the notorious Nebaioth Academy.
The questions in the lips of many are which they have not been able to provide answers to are: What are these innocent souls being used for?; What is the aim of this academy?; Is it even registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission? If the academy’s aims are genuine, why must these members be cut off from their families? These are some of the questions begging for answers and the concerned authority, especially the police shouldn’t be quiet.
Should we wait till this will be blown out of proportion like the Boko Haram Sect, like the Bandits terrorising parts of the country, like the drugs cartel, like the human traffickers’ rings, like the internet fraudsters cartel?
Prevention, they say, is better than cure. Everyone will agree that it is more beneficial to take steps to prevent a problem from happening in the first place, rather than having to deal with it after it has occurred.
If there is any time to look into the activities of Neobaith Academy and bring its leader and founder in for questioning, the time is now!!!

Nice one, if only authorities will do the needful.
Nigeria must not see another insurgent group or drug or human traffickers or internet fraudsters cartel
