A former soldier that served in the 151 task force battalion in the North-east, Daniel Somtochukwu has lamented that the army was supplying more ammunition to kill his people in the South-east.
TheHintsNews reports that last Thursday, five soldiers who were on peacekeeping duty in Aba, Abia State were killed by suspected militants of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) enforcing sit-at-home.
The army has vowed that its retaliation will be fierce.
Checks revealed that the killing of the soldiers was coming two months after a similar tragic incident happened in Okuama in Delta state.
President Bola Tinubu in a statement issued Saturday urged the security agencies to fish out the masterminds and perpetrators of the Aba attack, as well as those calling on people to stay-at-home.
He described the action of the terrorists as nothing but a treasonable offence.
But tweeting via @Somtolism7 on his verified X account, Somtochukwu said throughout his service in the North-east, he was only given 60 rounds of ammunition.
He revealed that he served under one Major Sani who was his Operation Commander (OC).
Somtochukwu noted that there were a lot of untold evil going on that soldiers cannot voice out, saying g he has a lot to say and vowed say it out
He said: “Throughout my service in the North-east, I was officially given 60 rounds till I left @HQNigerianArmy under the regime of Major Sani as my OC in 151 task force battalion. But see the way they are busy pumping ammunition to kill my people in the east and they want me to stand in one Nigeria?
“A lot of untold evil going on that soldiers can’t voice out, I have a lot and I will say it out.”
Corroborating Somtochukwu, another X user, Emin Emin narrated how a Major was court-martialed unjustly fir killing terrorists.
Tweeting via @Eminenc17062036, the X user said: “I know of a soldier, a Major who wasted boko haramites because his team had arrested those same terrorists, handed them over to their superiors and felt they were being prosecuted, only to meet them the second time in the battle field, captured them and recognised them, he went ahead to eliminate them.
“His superiors charged and court-martial him, he ended up committing suicide that he won’t stay in same prison with boko haramites. That’s the military promising fire and brimstone in the South East because of the planned execution of Igbo soldiers.”
Responding to the tweet, Somtochukwu said many people know that what he’s saying is truth, adding that those in service are afraid to voice out “to avoid being killed directly or indirectly.”
“This is me on red after this labour Fulani herdsmen invaded my mothers farm, they nearly butchered me with matchet. I reported to police and nothing was done you expect me to support one Nigeria that doesn’t care about how we survive? Ex Nigerian soldier.”
