Senator Godswill Akpabio as emerged as the President of the 10th Senate.
Akpabio defeated his closest rival and former Governor of Zamfara state, Senator Abdulaziz Yari.
TheHintsNews reports that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had endorsed Akpabio as the Senate President and Senator Jibrin Barau as the Deputy Senate President.
Akpabio scored 63 votes while Yari scored 46 votes.
However, Jirbin emerged as the Deputy Senate President unopposed after Senator Sani Musa, one of the contestants for the position stepped down.
