The Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintiri has commiserated with Gurin Community over recent boat mishap that killed many lives.
The accident which happened at Kwatan Mallam Adamu in the Gurin village on Monday led to the death of two persons, 12 rescued, while several others are still missing.
The Governor, in a statement issued Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Muhammad Tukur, directed the enforcement of regulations on operations of inland waterways commercial transportation.
He said at the palace of the District Head of Gurin, Fintiri called on traditional institution to support government policy.
The Governor assured that his government would purchase live jackets for boat passengers to reduce lost of lives.
Responding, the District Head of Gurin, Alhaji Abubakar Baba commended the governor for the visit and promised support of government.
