The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has commenced the second phase of the training for the implementation of Microsoft Learning Management Systems (LMS) for its staff.
The three days training which is taking place at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja started on Wednesday and would end on the 31st of October.
The Managing Director of the agency, Prof. Charles Anosike said the LMS would revolutionise training programmes in the agency.
He noted, “It will set a new standard for online learning within the agency and by extension to members of the public who are interested in gaining knowledge about products and services offered by NiMet.”
On his part, the Special Assistant on ICT to the DG/CEO of NiMet, Mr. Cyprian Okpalaku said the training was aimed at developing the computer skills of staff and encouraging the adoption, usage, and implementation of the LMS platform in their daily official affairs in the agency.
He added that it would also foster synergy amongst all units and departments of the agency.
