The Governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintinri, his Bauchi state counterpart, Bala Muhammrd and Plateau state governor, Caleb Mutfwang are currently meeting with the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike in Abuja to resolve the fight between him and the Governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara.
TheHintsNews reports that the cold war between Fubara and Wike culminated in the moves by 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to Wike to impeach Fubara.
However, the governor’s loyalists stormed the assembly complex in protest against the plot after the bombing of the state House of Assembly located along Moscow Road in Port Harcourt by suspected arsonists on Sunday.
The bombing led to the destruction of a section of the chamber, while some property were destroyed.
Meanwhile on Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu intervened in the crisis in Rivers State, and adequately apportioned blame to the two feuding leaders.
The president, it was gathered, cautioned Fubara to restrain his anger at the unfolding situation in his state, and advised Wike, the immediate past governor of the state, to respect his successor.
It was also gathered that Tinubu warned the Rivers State governor to be wary of emergency friends in office, likened him to an individual carrying a basket of fresh eggs on his head and standing in the midst of agitated people.
He asked Fubara that if he was eventually pushed down by those agitating and all the eggs broke, what could he have lost if he avoided the agitated people or refused to yield to their game of sycophancy
