President Bola Tinubu has directed the immediate release of minors Arraigned in Court last Friday for protesting during the #EndBadGovernance.
The arraignment of the minors by police has generated a lot of reactions forcing the President to direct the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi to ensure their immediate release.
Tinubu has also demanded an investigation to unravel circumstances leading to their prolonged detention.
Tinubu in a statement issued Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga also directed the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs has also been directed to ensure the safe return of all the minors to their families
He said: “President Bola Tinubu has directed the Attorney General of the Federation do everything possible to ensure the immediate release of minors detained by the Nigeria Police in connection with the recent protests without prejudice to whatever legal processes are ongoing.
“The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs has also been directed to ensure the safe return of all the minors to their families while an investigation has been opened into the circumstances leading to their prolonged detention.”
