Troops of the Nigerian Army have intercepted over 365 pieces of Pawpaw size wrapped Cannabis Sativa weighing about 176kg to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ogun State Command on Thursday, 11 January 2024.
The Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Brig-Gen Mohammed Aminu has handed both the exhibits and suspects to the agency.
In a statement issued Saturday, the Garrison Commander, Col. Legborsi Deedum Nule who represented the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade said the Brigade would continue to sustain all efforts in collaborating with other security agencies to rid the State of crimes.
Aminu reiterated the Brigade’s commitment to ensuring troops maintain high standard and professionalism at all times in discharging their duties.
The suspect was arrested by troops on routine patrol on 6 January 2024 at Olodo Imeko along Imeko – Abeokuta road in Ogun state.
The Commandant NDLEA Ogun State Command, Commander of Narcotics Jane Ibiba Odili commended the effort of the Brigade and solicited more collaboration with the military, as well as other security agencies in the State.
