The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned the Director of Human Resources Management of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Mr. Sulieman Bulkwang before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court, Abuja for allegedly fraud. The anti-graft agency in a statement issued Friday said Bulkwang is being prosecuted on a five-count charge, bordering on criminal diversion of funds and money laundering to the tune of N223,412,909. Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved the suspension of recruitment into the State’s civil service until further notice. The Governor in a statement issued Friday by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua also ordered a comprehensive review of all recruitment exercises carried out by the Godwin Obaseki-led administration between May-November 2024. Judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC) have issued arrest warrants for Israel’s prime minister and former defence minister, as well as the military commander of Hamas. A statement said a pre-trial chamber had rejected Israel’s challenges to the court’s jurisdiction and issued warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant. The House of Representatives has passed for second reading a Bill seeking to amend the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja Act to provide for an increase in the number of Judges in the FCT High Courts.
