Daredevil bandits Thursday night invaded Ungududu community in Funtua local government area of Katsina State and kidnapped several women, most of them housewives, in a brutal overnight invasion.
The latest attack, according to Bakatsine occurred, despite repeated peace agreements brokered between the local government stakeholders and the bandits terrorising these communities.
It said: “The incident once again exposes the hollowness of selling peace deals with armed groups as a security strategy.
“Those who promote negotiations with bandits as a pathway to peace continue to ignore the painful reality on the ground: concessions embolden criminals, undermine justice and leave law-abiding citizens vulnerable.
“Each broken “peace” agreement further erodes public trust and sends a dangerous message that violence is rewarded rather than punished.
“In light of this fresh attack, serious questions must be asked about the Katsina State government’s purported plan to release 70 detained bandits as part of fulfilling a peace deal.”
