The All Progressives Congress (APC) has sacked the Governor of Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodinma as the chairman of Edo Governorship Primary Election Chairman.
His removal may not be unconnected with a rancorous primary election conducted last Saturday by Uzodinma which saw the emergence of three different aspirants as the winners.
In his place, the party has appointed the Governor of Cross River state, Senator Bassey Otu to oversee the rerun election scheduled for Thursday.
The party in a statement issued Wednesday by the National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu announced seven-man committee to conduct the rerun ordered by the party.
The members are: Shettima Shehu, a former deputy governor of Osun state, Mrs. Titilayo Laoye-Tomori; APC’s flag bearer in the Plateau State 2023 governorship election, Nentanwe Yilwatde Goshwe; Umar Musa; Lawan Garba and Rabiu Suleiman who was the Secretary were retained, among others.
