Following the recent realignment of forces in the opposition parties as part of plan to wrestle power from President Bola Tinubu, his Special Adviser on Public Communication, Daniel Bwala has said that the President is not distracted about the ongoing political talks ahead of 2027.
TheHintsNews reports that the President candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 elections , Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential of Labour Party, Peter Obi recently met in Adamawa as part of the ongoing realignment of forces.
Atiku also met with the Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso last month.
However, Bwala, in a chat with journalists on Wednesday in Abuja said the President was more focused on governance, delivering on the mandate and the promises he made to Nigerians people.
The Presidential aide noted that it was not time for politicking yet, saying when that time comes they would be ready for everyone
He stated: “Mr. President is focused on governance, delivering on the mandate and the promises to Nigerians people and he has refused to be distracted by political talk ahead of 2027.
“He is very focused on issues that bother the Nigerian people, to make sure that people come out of hunger, to make sure that Agriculture brings about the expected revolution, to make sure that our people are able to deal with their everyday problems.
“So the time for politicking is not yet and when that time comes we are going to be ready for everyone.”
“Mr. President is more than eminently qualified constitutionally to contest for the second term in office, and God willing, if God gives Mr. President life and health, we do hope that Mr. President will run his cause as provided by the constitution.”
Asked if the Presidency is not jittery about the outcome of the recent election in Ghana, Bwala noted that, given comparative analysis, and without blaming the government of Ghana, there are divergent applications of government policy.
His words: “If you have been following events in Ghana, you see that over the last one year and if you follow the indices, you will find out that it is not the same thing that is happening in the two countries. In what Mr. President is doing in redirecting the economy on the right path, Mr. President is very confident.
“The idea of the ruling party losing the election, that will not happen, because Nigerian people are seeing what the administration is doing. Nigerian people only care about what they are confronted with every day.
“They don’t actually care whether you are white or black skin or whatever, as long as what matters to them on their dinner table is dealt with, Nigerian people will always stay with you and that is what Mr. President is doing. That is why Mr. President is receiving commendations from every part of the country.”
