Coalition of Christian Politicians in Nigeria has said determination and strong opposition of a member representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Among Jaji to the under-developments and insecurities in Zamfara State has made him a target of these retrogressive politicians.
The coalition said it was highly disturbed about the manipulation and falsehood been peddled around by some political opponents and critics who are scared and intimidated by Jaji’s pedigree.
Its National Coordinator, Gabriel Itodo, while addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja said it findings elements within and outside the All Progressives Congress (APC) who were intimidatee by Jaji’s profile orchestrated campaign of calumny against him.
He added that the allegation of terrorism financing levelled against orchestrated by desperate politicians was part of the 2027 governorship race in Zamfara State.
He said that the political development in the State has become a source of worry and serious concerns with the series of political scheming and malicious talks by people who are bent on achieving nothing other than cheap political goals to the benefits of their paymasters.
Itodo stated: “Today, there are series and serious campaigns of calumny and smearing of his good name across the state, and this is done so as to maintain the status quo.
“They have tried fruitlessly to tarnish his good name and image, calling for his suspension, demanding his re-call by his constituents and several unprintable names were given to him such as one of the financiers of terrorism in the country. This is a joke taken too far.”
“Our findings revealed that these are the handiwork of enemies from both within and outside the party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and it is all about Hon. Jaji’s impressive and intimidating profile.
“It is also about the 2027 governorship election in the state. We are using this medium to appeal to politicians in Zamfara State to play politics with decency and decorum.
“How can a man of this character and a detribalised Nigerian be tagged terrorism financier because of his political capacity and competence, all we see playing out is fear of the unknown, his sagacity is the reason for this calculated attempt to smear his good name, but unfortunately, they cannot succeed,” Itodo added.
