An official of Chicago State University (CSU) has admitted that the replacement certificate which President Bola Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was fake.
The official maintained that the certificate was not a document of the university, meaning that it was a forgery.
The Registrar of the University, Caleb Wesberg, who testified under oath on Tuesday in a deposition following the ruling of Judge Nancy Maldonado on Monday in the petition of the records of Bola Tinubu at the CSU said that the logo of the school on the replacement certificate was not known to the institution.
The deposition process went on for more than 5 hours, and ended at about 9:30 p.m Nigerian time.
The process of perfecting the deposition document for onward transmission to Atiku’s lawyers in Nigeria was in top gear.
TheHintsNews reports that one of the grounds upon which the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, is challenging the election of Tinubu was on non-qualification based on forgery of his document
However, the full transcript of the deposition is being anxiously awaited by Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike who have followed the case with keen interest.
