The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 18 suspected internet fraudsters in Ogun State.
The suspects were arrested in Prime Garden Hotel, situated in Atun-iju, Idi-iroko Road following actionable intelligence that exposed their fraudulent internet activities by the operatives of the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the agency.
The agency in a statement issued Wednesday noted that the kingpin among them was alleged to have defrauded his victim of a whooping sum of N200 million.
It revealed that items recovered from him include a red-coloured Lexus IS 250 vehicle, a box of jewelry, foreign and local currencies, a driver’s licence of a female citizen of the United State of America with the name Eva Lovia and an identification card of male USA military officer, Julian Miguel Arroyo among others.
Recovered from others are a vehicle, laptop computers and incriminating documents.
The agency said they would be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
