The governorship candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Erelu Kemi Halle and 119,000 others have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the country.
Halle, alongside with her supporters were received by the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje at the party Secretariat on Thursday in Abuja.
Ganduje assured that the defectors would be incorporated into the party across the country.
While speaking with journalists, Halle said even though the policies of President Bola Tinubu-led administration appear to be harsh at the moment, the country would reap the benefits of the policies in no time.
She stated: “If you look at all the policies of the government, it takes time. You cannot be pregnant in a day and give birth on the same day. And instead of the baby to start crawling on the same day, to start walking the same day, to start feeling the same thing, it is going to be a phase of metamorphosis.”
Halle noted that though she condemned the removal of fuel subsidy at first, but she was later schooled by her husband that these are critical decisions that have to be taken for the country to be able to move forward.
She said they decided to join the ruling party because they want to be a progressive partner.
“We were more than 120,000 that defected from ADP to APC across the country,” Halle said.
