The Impacthive Centre for Accountability, Democracy and Rights (ICADAR) has demanded a copy of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently signed between the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the French tax authority, Direction Générale des Finances Publiques (DGFiP).
The organisation made the demand under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act in a letter addressed to the Chairman of FIRS.
Its Executive Director, Dr. Bello Ishaq also demanded the procedure followed in the appointment of Xpress Payment Solutions Limited as a Treasury Single Account (TSA) collecting agent.
It said: “In accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, the Impacthive Centre for Accountability, Democracy and Rights (ICADAR) hereby requests the following information within seven (7) working days from the date of receipt of this letter:
“A copy of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently signed between the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and the French tax authority, Direction Générale des Finances Publiques (DGFiP).
“The procedure followed in the appointment of Xpress Payment Solutions Limited as a Treasury Single Account (TSA) collecting agent.
“Additionally, we request information on the persons behind Xpress Payment Solutions Limited and the percentage of our revenue that Xpress Payment Solutions Limited is authorised to collect for their services.”
The organisation demanded that the agency furnish it with the requested information within the stipulated period as mandated by the Act.
