An Abuja-based journalist, Adebiyi Adedapo, has joined the people of Oyo State, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Nigerians in celebrating Governor Seyi Makinde’s 57th birthday.
The journalist also lauded Governor Makinde’s decision to suspend the planned activities for his 57th birthday celebration in honor of the children who lost their lives in the December 18 funfair stampede in Ibadan, the state capital.

While commending the governor for suspending his birthday celebration, Adedapo said the governor’s action is worthy of emulation.
He also commiserated with the parents and relatives of the children lost in the Ibadan funfair stampede and urged relevant security agencies to ensure adequate safety measures are in place at similar gatherings to prevent future occurrences.
He applauded Makinde’s legacy of selflessness and patriotism, describing it as a guiding light for the state and the nation.
“I want to particularly commend the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for suspending the planned activities for his 57th birthday celebration in honor of the young souls unfortunately lost in the December 18 funfair stampede.
“My heart and prayers also go to the parents and relatives of the departed children. I urge the relevant security agencies to intensify intelligence gathering and safety efforts to safeguard public gatherings, especially during the festive period,” he said.
