The Kaduna State government has approved the downward review of school fees for tertiary institutions in the State.
The approval given by the Governor, Senator Uba Sani was part of effort to encourage student enrollment and cushion the effect of rising cost of living.
The statement reads: “This is also in line with Governor Uba Sani’s campaign promise to ensure accessible education as highlighted in the #SustainKaduna Agenda”
It added that Kaduna State University, whose current fee is N150,000 has been reduced by 30 percent and students are to pay the sum of N105,000.
Also, Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic has been reduced from N100,000 to N50,000; while the tuition fee of College of Education, Gidan Waya has been reduced from N75,000 to N37,500.
However, tuition fee HND courses at the Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology, Makarfi, have been reduced from N100,000 to N70,000; while National Diploma Courses fee have been reduced from N75,000 to N52,000.
In addition, the tuition fee for Kaduna State College of Nursing has been reduced from N100,000 to N70,000.
