The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru has told Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state to learn from the political development in Rivers State to avoid same faith
TheHintsNews reports that President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday suspended Fubara and the members of Rivers state House of Assembly following the protracted political crisis in the state.
Checks revealed that Fubara had been at loggerheads with his estranged political Godfather and the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) since he assumed office.
Basiru while reacting to the development described the declaration of State of emergency in Rivers state as a welcome development.
He said Adeleke to take a cue from Rivers and allow the court reinstated local government councils to operate, warning that otherwise a state of emergency might also be apposite.
Basiru stated: “It is a welcome positive decision from President Bola Tinubu to restore law and order to Rivers State which was already becoming a failed state with negative consequences on the citizens of the state.
“It is disheartening that both the executive and legislative arms of Rivers state have abdicated their constitutional responsibilities of securing welfare and security of the people of Rivers state in the quest for fight to finish political brigandage.
“It is hoped that the Osun Governor take a cue from this development and allow the court reinstated local government councils to operate as otherwise a state of emergency may also be apposite.”
