The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Wednesday besieged the national secretariat of the Labour Party in Abuja to protest against the national convention planned for end of this month.
TheHintsNews reports that the planned convention has also pitched the party against the Labour Party lawmakers in the House of Representatives.
The NLC leadership accused Abure of planning to hold a “secret” convention without the inputs of major stakeholders.
The workers also demanded the sacking of the National Chairman of the party, Julius Abure, saying his plan is to destroy the Labour Party.
The police, however, denied the workers from gain access to the secretariat.
