Oyo State Government has declared that it was seeking partnership with private sector in the area of merchandised farming, youth empowerment and food security.
The state Governor, Seyi Makinde said this was part of effort by his administration to boost food production in the state.
Makinde who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola made this known on Thursday in Ibadan stated dieing the flag off a three-year Goatry Empowerment Program at Anyx Continental Farms.
He said having partnered with Quickborn Nigeria Limited, the governor said his administration was devising new strategies to achieve the objective in the shortest time.
Makinde noted: “I will like to explore with you and have a partnership that we can find with the Oyo West Local government in supporting us in our new resolve to up the ante in food production.
“Our new policy now is to partner anyone who wants to come and farm in Oyo State by providing the land, by ensuring that the lands are accessible, by also clearing the land.
“To that extent, we seek more partnership as such been organised by Oloye Babatunde Ologburo in the area of goatry empowerment, merchandised farming and providing start up kit which includes; eight pregnant doe(s), One young bucks, Improved naphia stem cutting for one acre of land, Glincidia seplum seedlings for one acre of land and other forms of merchanised farming techniques that will help us in achieving our plan worth over 1.2 Million Naira.
“We have an ambitious plan of ensuring that in the next 12 months, this becomes easily visible across the state. We welcome partners that will assist us in that part.”
