In two swift and coordinated operations, the Police have rescued 31 kidnapped victims in Edo and Taraba States.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement issued Friday said on July 11, police operatives rescued 14 victims abducted along Fugar-Agenebode Road, Etsako East LGA of Edo State after engaging the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle near Obe Hill.
He added that on July 12, police swiftly responded to a distress call along the Wukari highway and rescued 17 passengers travelling from Enugu to Yola after kidnappers fled on sighting security forces.
Adejobi said the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun commended the bravery of officers involved and assured Nigerians of intensified efforts to dismantle criminal networks nationwide.
