A road accident that occurred in Ogun state on Friday has killed three people, while one other sustained injury.
The Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, Florence Okpe, who confirmed the accident, said a Toyota Sienna vehicle, rammed into a truck in an accident on the Ogun State axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
He noted that the accident involved a Toyota Sienna vehicle with registration number BDG 426 HT and a DAF truck marked RNG 558 XC.
She further explained that the accident occurred around the Total petrol station located on the expressway.
Okpe said: “Seven persons, comprising four male adults, two female adults and one child, were involved in the accident.”
She explained that the cause of the accident was due to overspeeding on the part of the Sienna driver.
Okpe added that the Sienna driver rammed into the DAF truck, which was coming out of the trailer park.
She stated: “The injured victim was taken to Isaara General Hospital for medical attention while the corpses were deposited at FOS morgue, Ipara.
“Operatives are still on the ground managing the traffic situation. The Sector Commander has cautioned motorists against excessive speed and advised them to use common sense speed limits.
Meanwhile, no fewer than two lives were lost in a lone accident that occurred on Monday night between Geri Alimi and Ilorin Airport on Ilorin-Ogbomoso road.
TheHintsNews reports gathered that the accident occurred as a result of a speed violation and loss of control.
Four people were involved in the Mistubishi commercial Space bus accident, which occurred at 7.50 p.m. on Monday.
However, only two of them – a male adult and a male child—died, while two other male adults were seriously injured in the accident.
The state Commandant of FRSC, Frederick Ogidan confirmed the incident.
According to him, A Mitsubishi commercial space bus with registration number SHA 784 XH with four passengers somersaulted around the NARTO area on Ilorin Airport/Eyenkorin express road at 7.50 pm while the Road Safety Corps got to the place within 15 minutes of the occurrence.
Ogidan revealed that those injured were taken to Kwara State General Hospital, Ilorin, while the corpses of the two dead persons were deposited in the morgue of the same hospital.
