Several people were injured Thursday in the building collapse that occurred overnight along Adeniji Adele Road in the Isale Eko area of Lagos State.
The residential building which collapsed on Thursday morning led to the hospitalisation of several individuals.
TheHintsNews reports that the collapse immediately triggered an emergency response from multiple rescue agencies including the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the Nigerian Police, and other relevant emergency units.
Upon arrival, the rescue teams swiftly coordinated efforts to evacuate the trapped victims.
Some residents were pulled from the rubble and rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Checks revealed that the exact number of injured individuals has not been officially confirmed, but eyewitness accounts suggest that multiple people were affected.
LASTMA in a post on its verified X handle said: “There is a report of an overnight collapsed building along Adeniji Adele road, at Isale Eko.
“LASTMA personnel, other emergency responders and men of the Nigerian Police Force are all on ground.
“Traffic flow is currently not affected along the corridor as our personnel are firmly at the location for traffic monitoring.
“The emergency responders are still in action at the unfortunate incident scene along Adeniji Adele road, at Sasi lane, Isale Eko.
“Our officials have diverted traffic from Zenith back through Oba’s place to make use of Enu owa to their various destinations. Victims rescued from the building have been taken to the hospital for treatment.”
