President Bola Tinubu has ordered the security agencies to apprehend killers of ARISE News anchor, Somtochukwu Maduagwu.
TheHintsNews reports that Maduagwu had her life cut short untimely when 14 armed robbers invaded her estate in the early hours of Monday in Katampe area of Abuja.
Tinubu in a statement issued Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy,
Bayo Onanuga extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the management and staff of Arise News Television, and the broader media community over this painful and shocking loss.
He said: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received with deep sorrow the news of the brutal killing of Ms Somtochukwu “Sommie” Maduagwu, a talented news anchor with Arise News Television, who was murdered during a robbery attack at her residence in Katampe, Abuja.
“Describing Ms Maduagwu as a “promising journalist whose life was cut short in a cruel and condemnable manner,” President Tinubu directed security and law enforcement agencies to carry out a swift and thorough investigation into the incident and ensure the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice without delay.”
The President assured Nigerians that his administration remained fully committed to safeguarding the lives and property of all citizens.
