The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen and the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Barr. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Thursday met in Abuja.
Though the details of the meeting was sketchy, it might not be unconnected to a recent media report alleging that the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma and Onyejeocha were plotting to unseat Abbas.
Though in a swift response, Onyejeocha had through her media aide, Emameh Gabriel, described the report false as baseless and mischievous and one that was coming from her detractors who have become so uncomfortable with her appointment as a minister and her victory at the tribunal.
The Minister stressed that she was already aware of a plot before the media campaign against her was launched following her victory at the tribunal.
Onyejeocha, who arrived at the residence of the Speaker around 6pm on Thursday, walked straight into a meeting with the speaker that lasted for an hour.
After the meeting, Abbas and Onyejeocha were seen smiling and exchanging pleasantries and thereafter went for a photo op.
Both the Speaker and Onyejeocha, who was the immediate past Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, have served as few of the longest serving lawmakers in the Green Chamber.
