The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Usman Ododo, as the winner of the November 11 governorship election held in Kogi State.
Ododo was declared winner of the election by the State Returning Officer, Prof. Johnson Urama, Sunday night.
He polled 446,237 votes to defeat his closest rival, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), who scored 259,052 votes, while Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 46,362 votes.
The electoral body had earlier announced that fresh polls would be conducted in some polling units in the Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of the state on November 18.
However, Ododo was declared winner because the number of registered voters in the areas where fresh polls would be held was less than the margin of victory between Ododo and Ajaka
