The Rivers state Assembly has commenced the screening of those nominated as chairmen and members of the local government Caretaker committee in the state.
TheHintsNews reports that some youths loyal to the Governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara loyal to the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike from office.
But in a notice by the Clerk of the House, Dr. G. M. Gillis-West, a copy of which was obtained by TheHintsNews said the screening would start by 8:00 a.m.
He said the screening was in pursuant pursuant of Section 95 of the Rivers State Local Government Law, No. 5 of 2018.
He said: “The Rivers State House of Assembly hereby invites the following nominees for screening and confirmation as Chairmen and members of Caretaker Committees of the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State, pursuant to Section 95) of the Rivers State Local Government Law, No. 5 of 2018.”
Gillis-West noted that the screening would take place at the Hallowed Chamber, Rivers State House of Assembly auditorium.
He added that the nominees are to come along with 12 sets of their Curriculum Vitae (CV), the originals and photocopies of their credentials.
