The intense military bombardments of the forest in the North-West has led to the death of seven bandit kingpins.
The notorious bandit kingpins — each with more than 200 fighters were neutralised by the troops in the ongoing military operations being carried out in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force and vigilante groups.
According to Zagazola Makama, the bandits kingpins are: Kacalla Ɗan Baleri, whose camp was in Sabon Mashekari, in Batauna village, Shinkafi LGA; Kacalla Ɗan-Babirki, whose camp was in Fankama, near Rudunu village, Maradun Local Government Area.
Others are: Kacalla Hana-Zuwa, whose camp was in Jajjaye, Tubali region, Shinkafi Local Government Area; Kacalla Adamu, who operates in Maradun Local Government Area and Kachallah Buzu aka Sububu.
The troops also killed dozens of their fighters in different encounters.
Their death, however, has sent shivers down the spine of Bello Turji who has now been forced to flee from one forest to another due to intense military operations.
Turji, it was gathered, could no longer stay in one place as he moved from Shinkafi forest to Tsafe to Isa and Sabon Birni.
Zagazola Makama said: “His situation is precarious, and he’s constantly on the run. Bello Turji’s actions have indeed caused immense harm and suffering to many innocent people in North West Nigeria.
“The reported killing of Halilu Sububu, his leader, seems to have weakened his position and forced him into hiding. He now knows that the whole world is against him.
“He is scared of even his shadow. No wonder he recently made a video begging the people of NorthWest to forgive him for causing them pain. Unlike in the past, where he is boastful, he sounded more like a drowning Man.

Meanwhile, the Police Katsina have neutralised another notorious bandit leader, Dan Kundu, the younger brother of Usman Modi Modi, who was known to operate within the Tsatskiya forest in Safana LGA.
Kundu was killed in a confrontation with police officers and local vigilantes on Thursday night, following an attempted attack in the Kurfi area, where he was intercepted with his gang before they could carry out the assault.
Several of Kundu’s men were also killed in the firefight that ensued.
