•You’re only feeling insecure, Onyejeocha tells Kalu
The Bende Leadership Forum Friday accused the Minister of State for Employment, Nkiruka Onyejeocha of feeling defeated that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu achieved her life-ling ambition in five years.
TheHintsNews reports that both Kalu and Onyejeocha have been fighting a cold war of through proxy.
However, in a swift response to the Bende forum, Onyejeocha said the forum should call Kalu to order.
The President of the forum, Mr. Kingsley Enwere, while reading a communique after the meeting in Abuja expressed displeasure with the recent sponsored media attacks against Kalu.
The forum which rejected in totality the testaments that Kalu was engaging in anti party activities in All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia state called on all well meaning APC stakeholders to call Onyejeocha to order.
It stressed that it had every reason to believe that though the press conferences are done by proxy, they have the imprints of the Onyejiocha because she has not denied or refuted the allegations made by the group.
The forum pointed out that while Kalu represents Bende Federal Constituency, Onyejiocha hails from Isiukwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency, stressing that though both constituencies are in Abia State, there was no political affinity between them as to ignite any interest.
It stated: “We regret that Nkeiruka Onyejeocha our daughter in Abia has chosen such an ignoble route to smear the image of one of the best and brightest sons of Abia, who President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his colleague at the National Assembly saw his credibility and capacity and supported his emergency as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.”
The forum said it was surprised Onyejeocha seems to be having sleepless nights over the position of the Deputy speaker occupied by Kalu.
It maintained that Kalu was not responsible for his sisters political circumstances which might after all be temporary as they do not belong to the same constituency, saying he should not be a victim of her misplaced and transferred aggression.
It added: “We had expected our daughter Onyejeocha, rather than feeling defeated, inferior, obsolete and depleted, to erupt with joy and be proud that in her absence, her own brother fulfilled her lifelong dreams in just 5 years, and as a veteran, embrace him, give him all the support, advise and encouragement he needs to succeed.”
It, therefore, advised Onyejeocha to concentrate on the job given to her as a minister which she holds in trust for the entire South-east than engaging in acts capable of pulling down her own brother from a position she cannot fill because she’s not a member of the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, Onyejeocha called in the forum to call Kalu to order adding that he ignited the war.
The Minister, while reacting through her Chief Press Secretary, Gabriel Emameh, said they should allow her concentrate on her job.
She said: “Onyejeocha victory at the tribunal is the issue. Ask yourself when did this campaign started? Immediately she was declared winner of the election
“We will not continue to drag ourselves to the mud with Benjamin Kalu. He alone knows what his problem. They should sit him down and ask him questions
“They should call their son to order. He ignited it. Nkeiruka is not fighting Kalu. Like they said, they are not from the same constituency.”
“If truly they are elders and she is their daughter as they said, why didn’t they reach out to her to hear from her before taking a position. She is not fighting. They should ask Kalu to trace his nightmare and leave Onyejeocha alone.”
