The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje has inaugurated a six-man committee of governors to coordinate the party activities in all the geo-political zones.
Ganduje while inaugurating the committee on Wednesday in Abuja said the six governors have the mandate to initiate periodic interface between the governors of the zones and the leadership of the party.
He added that they have also been mandated to liaise with the party to commence immediate process for genuine reconciliation of aggrieved party members in the z.ones.
To this end, Ganduje said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State will coordinate the party’s activities for the South-west zone, while Senator Hope Uzodinma of Imo state takes charge of the South-east and the Governor of Cross Rivers state, Bassey Otu would be in charge of South-south.
Similarly, the Governor of Kwara state, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, takes charge of North-Central, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state is the coordinator of North-east and Uba Sani of Kaduna state would coordinate the party’s activities in the North-west.
Ganduje stressed that the terms of references for coordinating governors included; coordinating the governors of the zones to always identify and participate more on the activities of the party.
He added: “Mobilise Governors of the Zones to effectively and physically participate in Party activities within and outside the zone.
“Consult with Governors of the Zones on issues that will further enhance the progress and unity of the Party within the zone. Assist the party on resource mobilization within the Zones.
“Participate in any other activity that may be assigned by the party.”
Responding on behalf of the governors, the Chairman of Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Uzodinma said they would not fail the party in the assignment given to them.
