The Lawgistics Mentoring Community has recognised the Public and Private Development Centre (PPDC) with its Most Strategic Impact and Partnership Award, acknowledging its dedication to accountability and civic engagement in Nigeria.
The award, the group said, highlighted PPDC’s consistent efforts in empowering organisations across sectors and promoting transparency and collaboration.
Lawgistics, a pan-African community comprising over 1,800 law students and professionals, commended PPDC for its consistent efforts in empowering organisations across sectors.
Founder of Lawgistics, Samuel Chukwu, while presenting the award to the CEO of PPDC, Lucy Abagi on behalf of the Center, stated that PPDC has shown that accountability in this space cannot be achieved alone.
Speaking during the presentation at the PPDC headquarters in Abuja, Chukwu described the recognition as well-deserved.
He opined that PPDC’s work in driving transparency and collaboration sets a benchmark for civic actors in Nigeria.
“The PPDC have demonstrated time and again that civic partnerships are essential to transforming society,” Chukwu said.
He added that the award was not just a celebration of past efforts but a call to deepen partnerships and build stronger civic infrastructure across the country.
Responding, Abagi said the centre’s success stems from its focus on collaboration rather than competition, noting that development doesn’t happen in isolation.
According to her, You cannot fix all of Nigeria’s problems alone — partnership is the bedrock of development. PPDC is working closely with government institutions, including ministries, Attorneys-General, and Chief Judges, in its quest to advance justice and governance.
Abagi noted thatPPDC’s extensive network, including more than 200 pro bono lawyers, 11 law clinics, and collaborations with over 50 police stations across 10 Nigerian states.
