The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Tuesday summoned all domestic airlines to a crucial meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, in Abuja.
The NCAA, through its Director, Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, gave the hint on his verified X handle (former Twitter), noting that the meeting would focus on key issues affecting air travel in the country, including unruly passenger behaviour and protocols for handling such incidents.
Achimugu stated that other issues to address are unresolved refund and compensation complaints, and the planned introduction of RFID bag tags alongside flight monitoring technology.
Additional items on the agenda, according to him, include the enforcement of phone switch-off instructions during flights, improved protection for cabin crew, and measures to enhance passengers’ overall travel experience.
Achimugu, further explained that the session would be streamed live on NCAA’s official social media platforms, X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, stating: “Passengers and stakeholders are encouraged to follow updates via @NigeriaCAA.”
