Tinubu/Shettima support groups have expressed disappointed over the choice of ministerial nominees from Bauchi state.
They alleged that the nominees picked by President Bola Tinubu did not work for the success of the party in the state.
The groups in a statement issued Wednesday and jointly signed by Shehu Yusuf, Yohanna Ezekiel, Dauda Isah, Mohammed Nasiru and Bala Abdullahi, noted that the nominees were not among those who spent time and resources before, during the 2023 election which the party won convincingly at the national level.
The groups noted that the vote Tinubu missed in the state during primaries was allegedly from one of those nominated as a minister to the amazement of the state loyal APC family.
They added that there are leaders who held the party together when the nominees were allegedly clearly working against APC’s collective interest.
They insisted that their anti-party activities contributed greatly to the electoral setback in the state during the governorship election in which APC is challenging the results before the tribunal.
To this end, the groups called on the President to take another look at this issue so that loyal party members would not be discouraged from giving their best to the party going forward.
The groups said: “We the undersigned members of the Tinubu/Shettima support groups, in Bauchi State wish to draw the attention of our dear President, Ahmed Tinubu, to what we consider a threat to the stability of our great party in Bauchi State.
“It is clear that our President means well but we were shocked to say the least by the choice of nominees from our state.
“Members of our state chapter of the party are worried that this appointment, if allowed to stand, will destroy the good will we enjoy because those who truly laboured for the success of the APC in Bauchi State have so far been left out.
“Mr. President sir, the nominees were not among those who spent time and resources before, during the 2023 election which our party won convincingly at the national level.”
