Save the Children International has said that the renewed fighting between the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) and M23, a non-state armed group, has displaced at least 150,000 people, more than half of them children, since 2 February. The Nigeria Police said it has neutralised some notorious kidnappers and gun runners, who have been terrorising Abuja, Kaduna, Kogi, and Nasarawa states. It said the neutralised kidnappers have been involved in supplying arms to bandits operating within the same axis. A former member of the House Representatives, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, is dead. Ojougbo who represented the Ika federal constituency of Delta State died on Wednesday night while watching the semi final match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and South Africa. A reliable source said Ojougbo died when the referee awarded a penalty kick against Nigeria at the dying minute of the game.
