An author and a social Media influencer, Japhet Omojuwa has berated the 2023 Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, describing his record as a governor in Anambra State as catastrophic
Omojuwa in a post on his verified X handle noted that the U.S. embassy statement on the shortcomings of some governors was what Obi could easily relate to.
He noted: “You gave shoot at sight orders as governor. This led to one of the most notorious SARS killings ever, Awkuzu SARS et al. You refused to face a panel for this.
“Your state’s university was on strike for months. You ignored them. Even increased their school fees. The same thing you’ve wailed crocodile tears about now you are (supposedly) born again.
“You fired a VC of a striking university for not ensuring the strike was called off. You replaced him with a Prof from Agulu, your own village.
“Someone in your convoy was caught with N250 million cash. This was worth about $2m at the time.”
Omojuwa added that while Obi was governor, he chided traditional rulers for attending an event by his then political rival.
He stressed that Obi who now presents himself as a Messiah of Nigerian politics turned Catholics against Anglicans so much everyone in Anambra voiced out at the time.
Omojuwa said: “You loaded Nigerians in buses and sent them to their states. You bulldozed people’s houses without compensation.
“You used bigotry as a campaign strategy against Ngige who was running under what you referred to the voters as “a Yoruba party”.
“Dear Peter Obi, let’s be frank without being silly, you were the exact type of governor condemned by that U.S. embassy statement.
“Heck, you invested the state’s money in your family business. Against the law, you remained in the management of your company whilst already governor. This lasted at least 2 years into your administration.
“These are at least 12 of many infractions. You can fool your Obidient followers, after all, being dull is a prerequisite for being one, but Nigerians have woken up to the truth.
“You aren’t better than the average politician. You just got lucky with Atiku in 2019 and Pastor PojunOyemade and ended up harvesting some of the most foolish humans in our national history.
“Be like Mr Wallace, be quiet! when the conversation is about leadership. You can spew and repeat competence, capacity, character and all those words mummy said to always use, but you know, I know and they know; you aren’t it!
“Bonus: Doctors strike that lasted over a year. Local government elections that never got conducted until you were on your way out of power. Distributed SUVs for political favours. Abandoned APGA for a PDP board appointment when shooting for a ministerial one.”
Omojuwa maintained that everything he said could be verified online, saying he wondered the things Obi did that they don’t even know about.
