The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Lagos State Chapter has said that the 2027 Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Obafemi Hamzat has the experience to sustain Lagos state development trajectory.
Its Coordinator, Amosu Tomi in a statement issued Friday congratulated Hazmat on his 62nd birthday.
He described him as a seasoned technocrat and experienced public servant with extensive knowledge of governance, administration and public policy.
Tomi added: “His years of service in government have equipped him with the experience, institutional understanding and leadership skills required to consolidate existing achievements and drive further development across Lagos State.”
He stressed that the State’s development trajectory has been shaped by successive administrations, beginning with the tenure of President Bola Tinubu as governor, when important foundations were laid through institutional reforms and policy initiatives.
Tomi noted: “This was followed by the administration of Babatunde Raji Fashola, which focused on implementation and expansion of key development programmes, and subsequent administrations led by Akinwunmi Ambode and the incumbent Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, which have continued to advance infrastructure and other sectors.
“Against this background, the Movement believes Dr. Hamzat’s years of experience and exposure in public administration place him in a position to sustain continuity while introducing new ideas and expanding the frontiers of development in Lagos State.
“His experience, the Movement said, would be valuable in sustaining and improving infrastructural development, strengthening medical and healthcare delivery, enhancing security and public safety, and expanding opportunities for youth empowerment, skills development and economic inclusion.”
The group stressed that continuity in governance does not mean the absence of innovation, but the ability to preserve successful policies and institutions while identifying areas that require improvement and introducing new solutions to emerging challenges.
It maintained that Hamzat’s calm and measured approach to leadership, accessibility, attention to detail and commitment to public service have earned him recognition among stakeholders who have worked with him over the years.
It said that his ability to engage diverse stakeholders, listen to different perspectives and promote constructive dialogue has also been evident in the discharge of his responsibilities.
