The eight kidnapped students of the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State have regained their freedom.
TheHintsNews reports that the eight students were kidnapped by gunmen who stormed the Gandu community on the night of December 6, 2023.
A community leader in the Keana Local Government Area, the state Mr. Spencer Jerry, confirmed the release of the students on Monday.
He noted that the students arrived in Kwarra village at about 8pm on Sunday.
The District Head of Gandu community, located opposite the university, Abdullahi Mohammed, also confirmed the release for the students.
He added that the students had been moved to the school medical centre for checkup.
Also, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Rahman Nansel, confirmed the release of the students.
