A group, the Progressive Foundational Movement (PFM), has called on the governor of Kano state, Abba Yusuf to focus on his mandate instead of embarking on a mission to destroy Dr. Ganduje’s huge footprint in Kano state the achievements of former governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
The group in a statement issued Monday by its spokesman, Jamilu Sani, said the demolition of Daula Hotel, which was a Public Private Partnership between the state and a private company, sent a wrong signal to prospective investors.
TheHintsNews reports that a private firm, Lamash Property Limited, had recently threatened to sue the Kano state government demanding N10 billion compensation over the demolition of Daula Hotel.
It frowned at the brazen way the Yusuf-led administration was going about carrying out wanton destruction of public properties without due process.
It also decried the manner Yusuf in less than a week after his assumption of office demolished beautiful edifices worth billions of Naira in the ancient city.
The group noted: “We are taken aback by the reckless demolition exercise ongoing in Kano state. It is worrisome to see how people are losing their business in the name of demolition. How will you put people, your subjects, into this kind of misery because you hate your processor Ganduje.
“Ganduje as the architect of modern Kano has done his best for the state. We are, however, calling on the elders of the state, particularly governor Yusuf’s political leader and boss former governor Rabiu Musa kwankwaso to call the Governor to order before it’s too late.”
It said at a time Kano state, which is the commercial nerve centre of northern Nigeria, needed investors to boost its internally generated revenue, the state government was undermining the investment drive of the former government of Ganduje in the state.
