The Acting Inspector General of Police, Adeolu Egbetokun, Wednesday assumed duty as the 22nd police boss in the country.
Egbetokun took over from the immediate past IGP, Usman Baba following his appointment by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday.
He said his appointment was a call to make a difference in the shared mission to safeguard the lives and wellbeing of everyone that lives in the country.
he noted that the Police boss assured that the under his leadership will strive for excellence, transparency, and accountability to rebuild public trust.
Egebtokun added that the Police will also restore confidence in the law enforcement institutions, and create a Nigeria where every citizen feels safe, protected, and respected.
He said his administration will unveil new tactics that will unleash the great potential of Police to secure the nation, build lasting peace, and deliver on the vision of the President for a thriving and prosperous Nigeria.
