The Federal Ministry of Education has reaffirmed that all Federal Unity Colleges nationwide will resume academic activities on Monday, September 14, 2026, as scheduled.
It also reassured students, parents, guardians and other stakeholders that necessary arrangements are in place to support a safe, smooth and seamless commencement of the new academic session.
The Minister of Education, Dr.Tunji Alausa gave the assurance in a statement issued on Sunday, noting that the safety and wellbeing of students and staff remained central to government’s commitment to providing a secure and conducive environment for teaching and learning.
Alausa stressed that relevant security agencies have been duly informed of the resumption arrangements and are maintaining heightened vigilance around the Federal Unity Colleges and their immediate environments.
He explained that the coordinated efforts are aimed at safeguarding students, staff and school communities as academic activities resume across the country.
The minister, therefore, urged parents and guardians to remain calm, rely on official information and proceed with their preparations, ensuring that their children and wards return to their respective Federal Unity Colleges on Monday as scheduled.
He also directed school authorities to maintain close coordination with relevant security agencies and other appropriate authorities to facilitate an orderly and secure resumption.
Alausa said the ministry would continue to monitor developments and take all necessary measures, in collaboration with the appropriate authorities, to ensure the smooth and safe resumption of academic activities in all Federal Unity Colleges nationwide.
