A staff of Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, Samuel Adebo and his wife, Christiana Phillip, have been accused of allegedly duping six people of the sum of N202,500.

Christiana, a thrift collector, had introduced the contribution to the people who in turn showed interest to be part of it.

Mrs. Philip 30, who lives along airport road, Lugbe, Abuja initiated N3,500 weekly contribution on October 20, 2022 and was expected to end January 13th.

While the N3,500 weekly contribution was ongoing, she introduced another N5,000 weekly contribution on December 31, 2022 and it was expected to end on March 1, 2023.

However, Problem started when she decided to celebrate her birthday in grand style at an expensive hotel in the City Centre.

TheHintsNews gathered that the money contributed by the people was allegedly part of the money used for the birthday celebration.

One of the victims, Esther said: “I knew her through a friend. I never knew she was dubious. Her birthday was in February, and my friend was supposed to pack on the 3rd of January and I was supposed to pack on the 13th of January being the last person.

“Initially, she was complaining that people were no longer paying. She also stopped updating the WhatsApp group created for the contribution. She subsequently changed the number we knew her with.”

Esther added that Phillip promised to pay them their money after her birthday, stating: “After the birthday, we tried to reach her, her number was no longer reachable. She later lied that her account was hacked.

“Before then, she claimed she had issues with her account. She directed us to pay into her husband’s account. Her husband’s account is Samuel Adebo, with account no: 0079328610, Sterling Bank, while her own account number is; Christiana Achenyo Phillip, Account number: 3181269981; First Bank.”

The victims said when they realised they could not reach her because they don’t know where she lives, they reported her to her mum who lives in Bwari, around Etsu palace.

Esther further alleged that Phillip and her husband, Samuel work perfectly together as they continue to swindle innocent Nigerians.

According to her, “I contributed N83,000 our of which she has paid N30, 000, with N53,000 left unpaid; Peace contributed N63,000 and was paid N27,500, with the balance N35,500 yet to be paid.”

She added: “Halima contributed N80,000 with only N20,000 and with the balance of N54, 000 yet to be paid; while Blessing contributed N20,000 and nothing has been paid; same as Patience (N20,000); and Billa N20,000.”

Phillip refused to pick or return calls and text messages sent to her.

However, her husband, Adebo denied scamming the people, adding that his family is a responsible family.

He added that the money in question was not paid to his wife at once and as such they should not expect his wife to pay back at once.

Adebo known as Legacy Adebo Skillz in entertainment industry in Abuja said: “Nobody is scamming anybody. We are a responsible family. We are not hiding. I and my wife are owing them but I don’t have the concrete figure but I will tell you now that it’s not up to the amount they wrote.

“If you publish with the figures u are talking then you and your media outfit will also hear from me and pay for damages.”

Adebo also denied that his wife used their money to celebrate her birthday.

He added: “So, I don’t know who send you when the same people know that they already have a date. My wife have been paying them back instalmentally.”

Asked if his wife was supposed to be paying them in piece-meal, he asked rhetorically, “Did they pay her once? Whatever mindset they have gotten in their head about us is false and lies from the pit of hell,” he said.
