The Presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Osifo Stanley has said that the National Working Committee (NWC) did not ask him to step down despite contesting against President Bola Tinubu.
Osifo made this known on Saturday in Abuja after he was screened by the committee ahead of the party’s primary election.
He stated: “The party has not told anyone to step down. The party has not mentioned anything like that. We have not discussed stepping down. I have never discussed anything about stepping down with anybody.”
Osifo stressed that he would be willing to abide by the party’s decision if the party decided to adopt consensus.
“Whatever position is taken, I am a party member, and I am expected to follow the rules and regulations of the party,” he noted.
