The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Funsho Adebiyi has reaffirmed that the Kaduna–Kano and Kano–Daura–Katsina sections of the Kano–Maradi Railway Development Project has attained between 70 and 75 per cent completion since it was awarded in 2021. To this end, he said that the project remained on schedule for commissioning in December 2026. He noted that the Kaduna–Zaria–Kano section is between 80 and 85 per cent complete and is currently undergoing finishing works. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Wednesday secured the final forfeiture of 48 properties linked to a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, to the federal government.
