The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu has deployed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 4 Headquarters, Makurdi, Dankombo Morris to Plateau State on an operational assessment visit following recent attacks in Bokkos Local Government Area of the State.
Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedu in a statement issued Thursday said during the visit on Tuesday, Morris visited Kawel Community in Mushere District, Bokkos Local Government Area, where he engaged community leaders, traditional authorities, and other critical stakeholders to assess the security situation and reinforce ongoing efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in the affected communities.
Conveying the condolences of the Inspector-General of Police, Morris sympathised with families affected by the attacks and assured residents of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
He emphasised that all lawful measures are being deployed to apprehend those responsible and prevent further acts of violence.
Iniedu noted: “The AIG further disclosed that, on the directive of the Inspector-General, additional security assets have been deployed to Plateau State, particularly in the affected communities of Bokkos Local Government Area, to strengthen ongoing operations, enhance security presence, and support efforts towards the restoration of normalcy.
“He urged residents to remain law-abiding and refrain from reprisal actions capable of undermining ongoing peace and security efforts.”
As part of the visit, Morris paid courtesy visits to the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, and the Gbong Gwom Jos, HRM. Jacob Buba.
He conveyed the condolences of the Force leadership and reaffirmed the commitment of the Force to sustained collaboration with the State Government in addressing security challenges across the State.
