The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned one Adeyinka Aderonmu before Justice E. U. Akpan of the Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja for fraud.
She is being prosecuted on a three-count charge bordering on transfer and retention of funds suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities to the tune of N328, 558, 800.
Aderonmu pleaded “not guilty” to the charges when it was read to her following which the prosecution counsel, F.A.I. Aesmebo, prayed the court for a trial date and for her to be remanded in a Correctional centre, while the defence counsel pleaded with the court to grant her bail.
Justice Akpan who observed that the defence counsel’s motion for bail was not in the court’s record ordered that the defendant be remanded in Suleja Correctional Centre, Niger State, and adjourned the matter till July 8, 2026, for commencement of trial.
