The Atum Humanitarian Anti-Corruption & Charitable Initiative (AHACCI) has commended President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to rooting out corruption and promoting good governance in the country.
It added that the current administration is setting a new tone for transparency and accountability in Nigeria.
Its Director GeneralI, Amb. Ismaila Atus, in a statement issued Friday commended the President for strengthening anti-corruption agencies through increased funding and guaranteed independence.
He said these moves have empowered anti-graft institutions in the country to carry out their mandate without political interference.
Atus, noted that Nigeria’s rise in the 2024 Transparency International (TI) Corruption Perception Index was a well-deserved result of the bold steps taken by Tinubu since assuming office.
He said: “President Tinubu’s strategic policies and decisive actions against corruption are clearly restoring faith in our institutions. “The leap in TI’s rankings — from 145th to 140th reflects the global community’s growing confidence in Nigeria’s governance under his leadership.”
“This is not business as usual. What we’re witnessing is a deliberate effort to institutionalise integrity and restore dignity to public service.
The group also commended Tinubu for economic policies that help tackle the root causes of corruption, especially among civil servants and young people.
He said these initiatives promote dignity of labour, reduce economic desperation, and make it easier for Nigerians to meet their needs without cutting corners

Initiatives like the student loan scheme, the credit guarantee system, and the increase in minimum wage are not just economic tools; they are weapons against corruption.
“When citizens can meet their basic needs through legitimate means, the temptation to cut corners reduces drastically.
“Furthermore, by making home ownership possible for civil servants and easing access to credit for entrepreneurs, the President is addressing the pressure points that often lead to corrupt behaviour. That is forward-thinking leadership.
“This is a defining moment for Nigeria. The improvement in our global ranking is not just a statistic; it is a signal that we are on the right path.”
